Battery Announces partnership with Orthopedic ONE

Battery Hockey Academy has announced an exciting new partnership with Orthopedic ONE, Ohio’s
largest physician-owned orthopedic practice. The partnership is designed to provide athletes at the
academy with enhanced access to top-tier sports medicine care. Through this collaboration, athletes
will gain access to the Orthopedic ONE Sports Medicine Hotline, offering free consultations with
certified athletic trainers seven days a week for sports-related injuries. If needed, follow-up
appointments with physicians will be available at standard patient visit costs. Additionally, Orthopedic ONE’s certified athletic trainers will be present at major events throughout the summer. The partnership also includes virtual educational workshops for Battery coaches, players, and parents, focusing on injury prevention and sports health.

Dr. Matthew Dickson, “When we started The Battery we committed to align with strong people and
organizations in order to provide our athletes and their families valuable hockey experiences. As an
emergency medicine physician, I know the importance of the service Orthopedic ONE provides in
getting injured patients in quickly for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. As a hockey dad I’ve
personally seen how committed they are to proactively keeping our athletes safe from injury and then
getting them back from injury to competition quickly and safely. This coupled with their virtual
educational workshops and easily accessible facilities makes Ortho One an ideal partner. I’m very
excited that this relationship will provide our athletes with the type of care and response that parents
expect from an elite organization.”

Founded in 2018 by hockey parents and former Columbus Blue Jacket Cam Atkinson, Battery
Hockey Academy has already trained over 7,000 youth athletes, with teams competing at top levels
nationally. The partnership with Orthopedic ONE will further support the academy’s mission to
develop hockey talent and contribute to youth sports growth in Ohio. The Orthopedic ONE logo will
be featured on the academy’s rink, jerseys, and helmets for the 2024/25 season.
